HP Sets New World Record for Printing Speed with Inkjet Printer

Usain Bolt is the fastest man. The HP Officeject Pro X is the fastest printer.

Earlier this year, Hewlett-Packard released a new printer: the HP Officejet Pro X. This is not just any ordinary printer, however—in fact, it is the new recipient of the Guinness World Record for fastest desktop printer.

How fast does a printer have to work to be the winner of such a record? And what exactly does this mean for you or your business?

The HP Officejet Pro X can print up to 70 pages per minute—faster than any other printer in the world. Not only does that mean more efficient printing services, but it can also accomplish its jobs at a fraction of the cost of other printers.

An Alternative to Laser Printers

For small and medium-sized businesses, the HP Officejet Pro X is a great alternative to laser printers. It is highly energy efficient, using up to 50 percent less energy than its laser printer alternatives. This means it can print what you need while minimizing waste and saving you up to 50 percent in costs per page printed.

Its incredible speed is helped in part by the fact that, unlike laser printers, in which the fuser must heat up before the job can begin, there is nothing to stop the Pro X printer from starting right away—it allows your printing jobs to begin in under 10 seconds.

Overall, the Officejet Pro X can print about twice as fast as most laser printers and for about half the price per page.

What Sets This Printer Apart?

This printer is more than just an alternative to laser printers, however. As a world record holder in speed, the Officejet Pro X sets itself apart from other inkjet printers as well.

What makes this printer so fast? The key lies in its utilization of HP’s PageWide technology. In most printers, the printhead moves from side to side to coat the paper in ink. With the PageWide technology, however, the printhead, which spans the width of the paper, remains stationary while delivering four colors of ink at once onto the moving paper. Since it never has to move, the printhead doesn’t receive the damage from the general wear-and-tear that most printers face.

In addition, the Pro X has options for print, scan and fax capabilities, with laser quality water and smudge resistant text.

So How Much Does it Cost?

Despite it’s record-breaking speeds and cost-efficient methods, the Officejet Pro X is very reasonably priced, coming in at under $1,000. Prices range from $486ex GST for the more basic model to $762ex GST for the more advanced Multi-Function model which includes the scan, fax and copy functions.

At New Age Solutions, we also offer this printer through a price-per-page deal—you pay for what you use, and we provide the printer free of charge. A contract term and some other conditions apply to this deal.
